FIX UP STRATEGIES FOR READING

This website gives an definition of fix up strategies and the research

behind them.  Fix up strategies are what we use to figure out what we don't

know when we are reading.  This site also gives links to many other areas

concerning reading.

TEACHERS FIRST

This link gives you books that you can read to your child or that your child

can read to you.  The important thing is that you share reading with your

child.  You can also click on the books to order them.  There are also links

to find out more about each book or author.

READING GENIE

This website is generated by a Professor at Auburn University (I'm sorry

Alabama Fans:).  It is used to help us (teachers and parents)help our

children to learn how to be better readers and enjoy reading.  It will take

awhile to go through everything but I think it would be well worth it.

SYLLABLES GAME

This is an excellent game to teach the children syllables and they will

enjoy it too.  At the end, it gives you the results (the words children got

write and wrong).  This would be a good tool to let the children write these

words in a notebook to have their own "new word book'.  I enjoyed playing

this game too!
